RAM brews honored at 13th Annual North American Beer Awards
The Ram Restaurant and Brewery was recognized by the North American Brewers’ Association at their 13th annual beer awards in Idaho Falls, Idaho on June 5, 2009. The Ram received more awards than any other craft brewing company in the competition with 9 metals for their hand-crafted beers from Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Colorado.
The Ram was awarded Gold medals for three brews including the “Slam Dunkel Bock” brewed in Salem, Oregon, “Bottlerocket Lager” brewed in Boise, Idaho and “Hell’s Bock” brewed at C.B. & Potts Restaurant in Fort Collins, CO.
Steve Samuelson, regional brewer for the northwest Ram Restaurants and Brewery locations, was very excited to have the “Slam Dunkel Bock” come home with a gold medal. “It was a huge honor to have the brew win gold over much larger breweries.”
Silver medals were awarded to three Ram Brews; the “Big Horn Blonde” from Lakewood, WA, the “Big Horn Hefeweizen” from the Northgate location in Seattle, WA, and the “Bus Stop Brown” from Salem, Ore.
“We are very happy to see our standard, year round beers winning awards,” said Samuelson. Both the “Big Horn Blonde” and the “Big Horn Hefeweizen” brews are continually on tap at Ram Restaurants and are a customer favorite throughout the year.
Bronze medals were awarded to the “Uber Dunkel 2009” from Puyallup, WA, “Dubbel Barrel Belgian Ale” from Boise, Idaho, and “Azreals Castle” from Big Horn Brewery in Denver, CO.
The North American Beer Awards were held June 2-5, 2009 and awarded medals to the best beers from over 1,100 entries in 72 categories. The judges are professional brewers and certified beer judges who evaluate samples over four days in blind tastings.
